What is a Modern Locket? What is it made of?

The Modern Locket is a unique piece of customizable jewelry.

They are completely and individually handcrafted in my studio in downtown, Cambridge, Maryland making each one an original piece of art.  The materials used in making the locket are hand-cut recycled glass and lead free pewter solder.  The accent pieces include freshwater pearls, pewter charms, crystals, tiny glass beads and sterling wire.

Where can I purchase a Modern Locket?

Modern Lockets can be ordered directly from me or you can email me with your location and I'll let you know who carries them in your area. Please check back for a complete list of craft shows I'll be participating in this year.

How do I put a picture in the Modern Locket?

How to use the locket:
Find a favorite snapshot and either shrink it down on a color copier (a 4x6 picture usually shrinks down about 30%). Or scan your picture onto your computer and shrink it down.
 
Put the locket over the picture and find the tableau
 
Cut the picture down to the tableau and keep trimming until it fits snugly in the locket, making sure to fill the entire frame.  Trim the top of the picture last so it's easy to pull it in and out while you are trimming.
 
Do the same with the back side of the locket (with either a picture or a written message). 

How do I change the picture?

To remove the picture easily, just pull it out with a straight pin.

How long will it take for my Modern Locket to arrive?

Usually you should receive your Modern Locket in a week to 10 days. I will let you know when you place your order. Wholesale orders may take a bit longer.
